The ALVBOV fully integrates the ALV function that maintains the loop volume in the rebreather – sometimes called an ADV, with a high performance bail out valve.  The integration is perfect, with the single valve mechanism performing both functions. Independent cracking pressure control ensures that the ALV does not free-flow, while the open circuit bail out stage provides the low cracking pressure needed in rebreather bailout.

The main valve mechanism uses genuine Apeks components, recognised as among the highest performance and most reliable second stage regulators in the industry. All plastic parts are injection moulded from ASA.  This investment in tooling enables optimised and smooth gas flow paths, leading to the lowest work of breathing in the industry.  The bail out function is triggered by pressing a spring loaded button, causing instant bail out with no additional effort. The mouthpiece remains in the diver's mouth at all times.
