Incursion multimode rebreather diver

Trains a military diver as an Incursion O2-CCR and SCR rebreather diver including mode switching

Trains a military open circuit diver as an Incursion O2-CCR and SCR rebreather diver including mode switching
Requires 10 days.  All candidates receive a training log and on passing the course, certification.  Course covers:

  1. Introduction and theory
  2. Rebreather essential safety: depth limits, gas analysis, duration
  3. Familiarity with the set: stripdown, assembly and pre-dive checks
  4. Oxygen safety
  5. Becoming effective on the set in CCR mode: see, breathe and swim efficiently
  6. Flood identification and recovery
  7. Operating the set in SCR mode: weight, settings, technique
  8. Key safety in SCR mode: gas management
  9. Entry from platforms such as helicopters, ships and piers
  10. Gas switching underwater
  11. O2 mode drills
  12. SCR mode drills
  13. Emergency procedures
  14. Supervisor checks

Answer:

All students must be qualified and experienced open circuit military divers with a current diving medical.   Prior rebreather experience is recommended.

Normally in the client's facilities, but can be hosted in the UK, Indonesia or in Australia.
Day 1 and Day 2 commence with a classroom session.
Days 1 to 3 require access to a pool, minimum depth 4m.
Days 4 and 5 involve open water diving in either sea or lake.
All divers must bring their dive suits, fins, mask and depth gauge to each day of the course.

Open Safety and its training agents (Apollo) will liaise on the detailed logistics commencing at least two months prior to the course.  A course planning document is available to assist the facility.

Yes, if the divers have already been trained in either O2-CCR or SCR modes on the Incursion, the course duration is halved.   If the divers have been trained in both O2-CCR mode and SCR mode, the course for switched mode use can be reduced to two days.

Answer:

Yes, divers who are are existing military dive instructors and who have prior rebreather experience can be trained and certified as Incursion instructors.   The instructor course is two days longer than the standard course, covering aspects of maintenance, safety and skills repetition to the Instructor level.
