A front-mounted cave exploration, deep dive bail-out or air-sea rescue rebreather, which fits virtually any BCD or harness. The Type VII is also suitable for use by glider (US: sailplane) pilots to altitudes up to 39,000 ft.
Apocalypse Type VII Front-mounted Air-Sea Rescue CCR/mCCR
A quick connect, front-mounted cave exploration, deep dive bail-out or rescue rebreather, which fits virtually any BCD or harness. It is also suitable for use with Acro oralnasal masks for use at high altitude, in gliders (US: sailplanes) and aircraft where it provides 6 hour duration.
The Apocalypse Type VII is flood tolerant, operates instantly without pre-breathing, at temperatures from +40C down to -40C, at depths to 350m and heights to 39,000ft.
Offering the lowest WOB on the market, it delivers the optimal gas density from any selected source whilst providing 4 hour duration under NEDU test conditions in diving, and 6 hours use for pilots.
For pilots, the Type VII is compact enough to sit comfortably on the lap, or can fit behind the space behind the seat in many gliders (US: sailplanes). For divers, the chest mount provides the minimum respiratory load in long swims, such as in cave systems.
Real time PPO2 monitoring is available with both head up display and pilot instrument options. For pilots an exhale PPO2 option is available, to measure the pilots exhaled levels to ensure there are no mask leaks or other faults that can cause a drop in PPO2 at altitude. The oxygen cylinder is non-corroding and certified for aircraft use. An exceptional level of oxygen safety is provided, with no aluminium components and progressively opening valve seats.
The rebreather may be operated in O2 CCR with a single cylinder or mCCR mode as a mixed gas unit with offboard Make Up Gas (diluent).
Training is included in the price: a 2-3 day cross-over course with any of our instructors, or a credit of equal value where you require a complete rebreather training course.
The counterlungs inside the rebreather are chest-mounted, and protected from water flow from diver propulsion systems or the current in demanding environments. The internal chest-mounted counterlungs providing the opposite hydrostatic balance to back-mounted rebreathers for optimum performance from a front mounted unit. The rebreather has an outstanding breathing performance, meeting CE requirements even at depths of 350m when fitted with suitable monitors and gas supplies.
No harness or BCD is supplied but the Apocalypse MkVII is designed to integrate with a multitude of third part CE certified options of these on the market.
CE compliant and compliant with EN 14143:2013 to 350m, even though this is outside the PPE Directive’s scope.
